General Info

Tucked into the lively food scene of Central, Nom Nom Dumpling is the kind of place you stumble upon once and then keep coming back to. Located at Hong Kong, Central, Wellington St, HK 香港島 中環 55 Caine Road, this dumpling restaurant blends everyday comfort with thoughtful cooking, making it a solid choice for both quick lunches and relaxed dinners.

Walking in, the atmosphere feels casual and welcoming rather than flashy. The menu is straightforward but focused, which makes ordering easy even if it’s your first visit. Dumplings are clearly the heart of the kitchen, and the Double Choices Dumpling with Soup 7 Pieces stands out right away. Each dumpling is plump, neatly wrapped, and served in a warming broth that feels especially satisfying after a long day in the city. The balance between the filling and soup shows careful attention, not just speed.

Beyond dumplings, the menu offers familiar Cantonese-style comforts that round out the experience. 狀元九鼎湯 and 上湯 bring a sense of tradition to the table, with clean, rich flavors that feel nourishing rather than heavy. Pairing these soups with sides like 蜜餞雞翼 adds a sweet-savory contrast that keeps the meal interesting. To finish, 雪梨水 is a refreshing choice, light and soothing, especially if you’re dining during a busy afternoon or evening.

Service here leans toward attentive without being intrusive. Table service is efficient, and the staff keep things moving smoothly during peak lunch and dinner hours. The restaurant is also practical in its setup, offering wheelchair-accessible seating and nearby parking, which makes it more comfortable for different types of diners. Whether you’re stopping in alone, meeting friends, or bringing family along, the space adapts easily.

Among local reviews, Nom Nom Dumpling often gets mentioned as a reliable go-to rather than a one-time novelty. Its Central location makes it convenient, but it’s the consistency of the food and the relaxed dining rhythm that really leave an impression. This is the kind of restaurant where the menu feels honest, the flavors feel familiar, and the overall experience feels genuinely grounded in everyday Hong Kong dining.

What customers say?

“ Here’s a polished English review: ⸻ I had a chance to try this place late at night. I arrived around 8:30 PM and it was still open. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are quite generous. The restaurant accepts cash only, no credit cards. It’s the kind of place where you come for a quick meal and leave—not really somewhere to sit and hang out. The service is basic, nothing special. Overall, a good option if you’re looking for something to eat late at night. The shop closes at 9 PM. ”

“ Excellent vegan dumplings and great value for money. Also, the menu is very clear and well designed. Highly recommended. ”

“ A solid and affordable option if you want classic-styled Chinese dumplings. With a great selection of traditional flavours ranging from chives with pork to corn, black fungus to shrimps, and more, this restaurant satisfies all the childhood nostalgia you may have for the signature nostalgic taste of your childhood. Both soup and fried options are available, with many side dishes to pick from, too. The store is a bit small in size, so expect to get takeout, especially during rush hours. ”

“ famous for dumplings, but the side dishes and noodles are especially fresh and good. cheap and fast, but could get quite busy during lunch and dinner. only 2 vegan-vegetarian dumpling options, but several side dishes to choose from. ”

“ This is one of my favourite dumpling places I visit every time in HK They have one vegetarian option and it's delicious! The dumplings are properly filled and sealed. You can tell the chefs are skilled here. Panfried or boiled they are killer. The filling is mushrooms and (oh boy) they have amazing flavour. Delicious on their own or dipped in chilli and vinegar these dumplings will set the world to rights again. Currently they only accept Octopus or cash. ”

“ This dumpling shop is one the branches located in the Central area. It is usually crowded during office lunch hour. As it need to serve the shop customer and online orders at the same time. The environment is super small (I believe this is normal in HK), so I only give 2 starts. The customer queue outside are not cover by shelter. It will be very hot especially during lunch time like around 12-2pm. This is something the shop owner might need to think of do something, so that probably the customer can queue outside more comfortably. Food taste overall are good. Food serve are fast also. Price range is starting from HKD 50. ”
